Innovation at our core
At Marais NZ, innovation isn't just a buzzword—it's woven into the very fabric of our identity, a legacy we proudly share with Tesmec Group. Since the 1960s, we have been at the forefront of trencher technology, constantly redefining industry standards.
MECHANICAL LAYING
Invented in the 60's by the founder of the group Marais, mechanical laying transformed network installation by combining trenching and deployment. This method utilises a laying box to guide pipes or cables into the trench while maintaining the correct curvature.
The benefits are substantial:
-
cuts deployment costs by up to 40%,
-
speeds up the process (400m/day in hard soil to 2500m/day in soft soil),
-
simplifies operations, leading to quicker network activation and revenue generation.
-
reduces the need for on-site personnel
-
minimises the environmental impact by lowering the volume of materials needed for backfilling
-
enhances safety as workers no longer need to enter trenches.
This quality-focused approach ensures precise positioning of cables or pipes, sand beds, and warning grids, making it a superior solution for modern infrastructure needs.
